6th Ward Emergency Preparedness Plan

The purpose of this Emergency Plan is to help the general membership to prepare for a disaster so that the area can concentrate and focus on items such as evacuation in an emergency. Most disaster scenarios are specifically addressed in this plan. Unlikely disasters, such as Hurricanes, are also includes so that we are prepared when traveling on business or on a holiday.

The main goal of the emergency plan is to provide the inspiration in order for us to ready themselves for most potential emergencies and disasters that may impact us and the neighborhood. This emergency plan does not replace a family emergency plan but rather is larger in scope. If we are prepared by following the spirit and these guidelines, they will be blessed with better security and safety. Other blessings include a reduction of fear, anxiety, and the losses that accompany a disaster.

Emergency Alert Registration

It is the Area Emergency Preparedness Coordinator’s responsibility to gather information from state and local authorities and help inform members of disasters and advise them on what action to take. The color codes below are used for ease of communication between members so that correct information can be passed on to the block captains and to all those in the neighborhoods. In an emergency, it is important not to pass on rumors, or repeat something you are not sure is true. When in doubt, contact your home teacher, area emergency coordinator or one of the block captains.

Register here to be notified of the "Color Alert Condition Codes."
